Big Big Surprise(@@)!

Last weekend I had an interview with Nihon-TV at my place.

I waited for the media crew and when the doorbell rang, I ran into the door, opened it and said “Hi, welcome~!”

At that moment, I was astonished by the sight of the person standing there in front of me w(゚o゚)w- it was my good friend, Maki Mori.

P4173410_2Maki and I have known each other for about 10 years, but we haven’t had many chances to meet lately.

I knew that Maki worked for Nihon-TV as a newsreader , but I didn’t know she would be working on my news story,or that she would be visiting me at my home unexpectedly to do an interview. It was great to see her, and you can imagine how surprising it was to see one of my best friends at the door to interview me for TV.

You’ll be able to see for yourself just how surprised I was when the program goes to air on Nihon-TV.

P4173413During the interview with Maki, I had a weird and wonderful feeling.

We talked for four hours about the Best Job in the World, and about my preparations for the final interview. But time passed incredibly fast, and I kept thinking how life often presents us with interesting opportunities and coincidences.

Ten years ago, when I first met Maki, I would never have imagined that we’d be talking together on TV in 2009 about my involvement in something as fun, exciting and beautiful as the Best Job in the World, and the Great Barrier Reefpisces.

Radio Promo Experience^0^

Do you often listen to the radioear???

I really like listening to the radio, because once we switch it on,

we can get comfortable listening to the sounds of the DJs chatting and

can also hear some great songs while we are busy doing something else.

In Japan, I listen to the J-WAVE station all the time.

There’s a lot of great music on J-WAVE and they often broadcast

in English as wellhappy02.

Luckily, I had a chance to go to the J-WAVE studios in Roppongi

last weekend for a promotional spot about the Best Job in the World.

Sctower_2The J-WAVE studios overlook Roppongi town and the famous

Tokyo Tower – it’s a fantastic vieweye.

During the program, I talked about how beautiful and attractive the Hamilton Island is.

There was no radio personality asking questions, so I had to talk directly to the listeners about the Best Job in the World, and my opportunity to bring the beauty of Queensland to the people of Japan and the world.

Scjwave2_2It was a new experience, and pretty challenging to try to talk to invisible listeners; now I understand how talented radio personalities are!

However, the Best Job in the World has been a pretty hot topic over here recently. Everyone’s interested in the campaign and in my involvement, so it is always great to keep people updated through promotional activities like these.

The program is called “Paradiso” and will go to air on J-WAVE, 24th April between 2:10pm and 2:25pm.
Tune into the program on 81.3FM if you are in Japan!!

Scjwave When I met Yoshiko-san who is a writer for the program, she said, “ I expected that you would be much taller than you are”.

Yes….I’m smallcoldsweats01 - actually my height is 154cm. For the final interview on Hamilton Island, perhaps I should bring something to stand on – just in casesign03

~ Finding Mie ~ MY PROMOTIONAL VIDEO

As many people may already know, making the personal PR video was the first step in the application process for the Best Job in the World.
Before making it, I’d never had direct experience making such a video.
It was quite challenging, even though it was only a short, 60-second clipwobbly

As soon as I found out about the Best Job in the World, I started thinking about my video, and what kind of script would be the best way to get my message across.
At first, I really just wanted to enjoy making the video and to enjoy the experience of doing something quite newshine to me. However, as time passed, I became more and more serious about it.

I currently work as a full-time receptionist for an IT company in Tokyo, so I am only able to work on things for the Best Job in the World  after work on weekdays and weekends.
So every nightmoon3 after getting home from work, I spent a lot of time thinking over and over about the script.

This was the first sign for me that I was becoming completely focused on the Best Job in the World. No matter what I was doing; making dinner, washing clothest-shirt, doing dishes, or even sleepingsleepy, my brain began working overtime - “Best Job, Best Job, Hamilton, Hamilton, Kangaroos, Koalas, Vegemitesign02”.

Making the script for the video was the biggest challenge for me. Just choosing where and how to shoot the video took a long time. I made about 10 scripts all together and in the end, I decided to shoot the clip at the Shibuya intersection, which is one of the most crowded intersections in Tokyo.

What I wanted most when making the video was to send the viewer a strong and impressive message. I also wanted to ensure that I kept the viewers’ attention throughout my video until the end.

Finally, just two days before my deadline, I hit upon the Finding Mie idea while I was taking a bathspa and humming songsnotenotenote.

It was a great moment, because I love the Great Barrier Reefpisces and Nemo comes from there.!!! "Finding Mie,Yeah~!Thank God!!!
Did you already find Nemo in my video????downwardleft

The best job in the world is getting more and more popular in Japan!!!

Well, the Best job in the world is certainly getting a lot of  attention in Japan now.

Just recently, when I went to see my eyeeye  doctor, he asked,

"You were on TV yesterday afternoon, right"? Then he said,

"Please do your best and I'm cheering for you as a representative of Japan".

Wow! His words were really encouraging, and made me realise that this

incredibly wonderful campaign is now becoming well-known by many people

here in Japan.

I think it's great that more Japanese people will now see how beautiful

the Great Barrier Reef is.

You can view the media coverage for the Japanese TV program. that

my doctor was talking about HERE.

I hope it's interesting for you all to see some Japanese TV.

Check it out!!!
